Friends of Oregon School for the Deaf launched its new website on April 9. It highlights many of the projects at OSD that FOSD has funded: Family Learning Program, a greenhouse for raising plants for sale, a fully furbished and equipped TV studio, aquariums and more. Soon a signed video created by OSD students which describes these projects and more will be uploaded. Have a look at the new website and let us know what you think. You can email us directly from the site. Better yet, consider volunteering for or donating to FOSD's good work today. Thanks.
Friends of OSD Offering “Camperships”
An anonymous donor generously contributed a sum of money to Friends of OSD for the sole purpose of providing a summer educational and respite opportunity for OSD students. Friends of OSD is able to award up to ten one-week “camperships” ($300.00 per “campership”) to students currently enrolled at OSD from ages 6-18 to Camp Taloali.
Please read the guidelines carefully, and complete the application if you are interested in attending Camp Taloali. Students who are able should answer the questions on the application themselves. Younger students may have help from their parents or guardians. Students will need to get statements of support from one OSD teacher, and one OSD staff person.
Applications for “camperships” must be mailed to Friends of OSD no later than May 1, 2015. The mailing address is:

PO Box 15053
Salem, OR 97309
A committee will select up to 10 OSD students to attend Camp Taloali during the summer of 2015. Student MUST also apply, and meet the requirements of Camp Taloali.
Those awarded “camperships” will be notified by May 15, 2015. This “campership” program will also be made available for the summers of 2016 and 2017.
The Board members of Friends of OSD are pleased to offer these “camperships”, thanks to our very generous donor.
