We currently have openings for Varsity Track & Field Head and Assistant Coaches. The coaches will be responsible for the Middle School Track & Field as well. Please take the time to view the Coaches' job description and fill out the application. Application and the description can be printed from the Oregon School for the Deaf website: http://www.osd.k12.or.us
The deadline to submit the application is on February 10, 2010.
We are very excited about the return of the Oregon Track & Field team after last year hiatus due to budget cuts. Oregon has a long history of winning the Track & Field Casco League Championship ('60, '61, '65, '73, '74, '75, '76, '78, '79, '80, '85, '86, and '87).

Poetry "Out Loud" Competition
OSD's high school students are busy preparing for Poetry Out Loud, a national recitation competition. Last year was the first year that Oregon SChool for the Deaf participated. In fact, it was the first time any deaf student entered. On top of that, our very own Tiffany H. Hill took it all the way to Nationals in Washington DC! We hope to see you at our school competition on February 4, 9:30 AM in the Peck Gym. The winner will represent OSD at State Finals, here in Salem on March 12 and 13, 2010.

Parent Resource Group
Please attend our FREE Wednesday Night Parent Resource Group starting January 13th, from 6:30 - 8 PM, held weekly in the library. We will have a interpreter available. This is an opportunity for parents of deaf/hard of hearing children to meet together, gain stronger signing skills, glean helpful tips from knowledgeable staff, and share resources. Please bring your children and enjoy ASL storytelling, social playtime and a chance to meet other parents with Deaf children.
Please contact Sharla Jones for more information.
